Aerolase Neo Elite is a 1064 nm laser that delivers rapid, no-contact pulses of light into the skin. That energy reaches the deeper structures behind several concerns at once: the bacteria and oil that drive active acne, the vessels behind rosacea and facial redness, and areas of uneven pigment. Because it is gentle and does not touch the skin, many patients find it comfortable. We were the first in the area to offer it, and it has been featured on the NBC Today Show.
The 1064 nm wavelength is also among the safer laser wavelengths for richer and deeper skin tones. That matters here, because deeper skin that is not a candidate for a light-based IPL photofacial is often a good candidate for Aerolase instead. Aerolase on richer and deeper skin tones
Many guests with deeper skin have been told lasers are not for them. The 1064 nm wavelength is absorbed less by melanin at the surface than shorter wavelengths, which is why it is often a reasonable option for Fitzpatrick types IV to VI where IPL is not. Psoriasis, as a supporting treatment
Some providers use 1064 nm lasers to help calm stubborn psoriasis plaques, and Aerolase may help in selected cases. We treat this as a supporting option, not a cure, and it depends entirely on a consultation. Psoriasis is a medical condition, so we work alongside your dermatologist and your current treatment plan rather than in place of them. Results vary, and some plaques respond better than others.
Razor bumps and ingrown hairs
Pseudofolliculitis barbae, better known as razor bumps, happens when shaved hairs curl back into the skin and inflame it. It is especially common on curly hair and deeper skin.
