The Mission
Healing that helps survivors reclaim themselves
Reconstructing Dreams is a nonprofit that connects survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking with providers who offer specialized treatments at little or no cost. For many survivors, the visible marks of what they lived through are the hardest to move past. Removing them is part of reclaiming a life.
The organization helps fund services like tattoo and branding removal, reconstructive procedures, and restorative dentistry, and it has served survivors since 2018. Its work is grounded in a simple belief: physical healing and dignity should never depend on what someone can afford.
Why It Matters To Us
The community work we’re proudest of
Reconstructing Dreams was founded by Julie Davis, who also built Pura Vida. When she is asked what she is most proud of, the answer is not a treatment or an award, but the survivors this cause has helped. Pura Vida supports the organization through charitable fundraising and as an affiliate partner.
The connection is a natural one. Traffickers often brand the people they exploit, and the same laser and skin expertise Pura Vida uses every day is exactly what it takes to remove those marks safely. The work here has always been about more than appearance; this is that belief taken to its most meaningful end.
