Facial Slimming & Contouring with Botox®

If you’ve ever wanted to change the shape or contour of your face, it’s probably much easier than you think and can often be done without surgery! Here’s how it’s done….

The masseter muscles are located in the back of the jaw are actually the strongest muscle in the body! Genetics, teeth grinding, clinching and even excessive gum chewing can cause these muscles to get larger, creating a bulky square shaped face. By simply relaxing those muscles with a neuromodulator such as Botox, Xeomin, or Jeuveau, the face will soften and look slimmer. Many even notice that their cheek bones look more defined.

Adding Dermal Filler Can Further Enhance Your Facial Contour

V-shape facial contouring is super popular on social media now. When done correctly (by a skilled injector), the results are amazing! Adding dermal fillers to enhance the cheek bones and to augment the chin results in a beautiful V-shaped face.

What to Expect

Your appointment will always begin with a consultation to discuss your aesthetic goals. Photos will be taken to document your facial shape prior to injection. If you opt to do facial fillers, a numbing cream will be applied before beginning. The masseter muscles will be injected 2-6 times per side which really feels like just a little pinch. The dermal filler injections may have some slight discomfort but is usually very easily tolerated due to topical numbing and most fillers have numbing agents included in them.

When You Can Expect to See the Results

Neuromodulators begin to take effect within 3-7 days (depending on which brand is used). As the muscles become relaxed over time, you’ll likely notice a gradual slimming of the face. The full effect can be seen around 30 days and can be adjusted if needed.

How Long Will It Last?

All neuromodulators wear off in about 3-4 months which means you can expect 2-3 touch ups per year to maintain your look. Filler treatments usually last about a year but it is recommended to do maintenance touch ups every 6-9 months.
