Lash Extensions
• Required Initial Consultation
o Before your first lash treatment session, a complementary consultation will be required. This will be the time for your lash artist to learn exactly which lash style will provide the look you desire, complete all necessary paperwork and to learn all about caring for your new lashes.
o Your artist will offer to do a patch test prior to you having extensions. This is totally optional and will help you know before beginning if you have any potential for an allergic reaction.
o You will be given a price for the full set and price for fill ins based upon the style of lashes you decide upon. Keep in mind, fill in pricing is completely dependent upon the perfect of lashes needing to be replaced. Aftercare is key to minimizing lash loss.
o At this time, you will be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit for your lash appointment since orders will be customized specifically for you.
• On your lash treatment day:
o Please arrive clean face (no makeup, mascara, or sunscreen).
o Plan for your first Lash extension appointment to last between 90 minutes – 2.5 hours.
o Your lash artist will escort you back to a private suite where you will be encouraged to take a “lash nap.”
o We encourage you to turn off your cell phone. You won’t be able to look at it so having the texts and alerts coming through will add stress to your session. We truly want you to enjoy your time with eyes closed. Mediate, take a “lash nap,” listen to music, or whatever calms your body and mind.
o Before your lashes are attached, your lash artist will do a deep cleanse and prep the eyes for lashing. The glue will be cured at the end and you will be sent home with care instructions and a home care kit.
Lash Lifts – Alternative to Extensions
A lash lift enhances your existing, natural lashes by curling them. This gives the appearance of longer, fuller lashes. The treatment can last for 6-8 weeks. No toxic chemicals or extensions are used in lash lifting, so this process is safe for the eyes but can be slightly irritating for some.
The great thing about a Lash Lift is that it is a very low maintenance as compared to lash extensions. However, there is a little extra care required over the first 24 hours. The first 24 hours after a lash lift and/or tint has been applied, the curling serum deposited into the lashes is still actively curing. It is important to refrain from certain activities and exposing yourself to certain environments to ensure the lash lift sets completely and your lashes do not set in an undesirable position.
o Be as gentle as possible with your new eyelashes and try to avoid rubbing your eyes or disturbing your lashes.
o You do not want to get your lashes wet. Keep eyelashes after a lash lift as dry as possible for the first 24 hours. This includes being in hot and steamy environments (eg hot bath or sauna) as the moisture will impact the initial curing process.
o Do not use any waterproof mascara or oil-based mascara or other makeup on the lashes.
o Do not use any lash serum, creams, eye makeup removers, lotions, sunscreens or cleansers containing oils on or near eyelashes.
o Avoid sports and recreation activities that cause you to sweat, and especially those taking place in humid conditions. Examples include but are not limited to swimming, showering, visits to spas and saunas and tanning.
o Avoid rubbing your eyes or touching your lashes with your hands or fingers.
o Try to avoid crying during the first 24 hours.
o It is advisable to sleep on your side or back versus on your front for the first 24 hours.
Lash Tinting
Lash tinting is a semipermanent dye for your lashes. Tinting won’t add curl, length, or volume to your lashes (but can be added to compliment your lash lift or lash extensions), but it will darken and intensify their color with permanent, cream-based dyes. For some, simply tinting the lashes can give that “pop” desired.
Latisse – Grow Your Own Lashes
Latisse (bimatoprost solution 0.03%) is an FDA-approved treatment to grow eyelashes for people with inadequate or not enough lashes. Latisse is clinically-proven to make eyelashes longer, thicker, and darker
Latisse should be used at nightly after washing your face, removing makeup and contacts if you wear them. Apply one drop of Latisse to an applicator. Brush the applicator along the skin of the upper eyelid, where the skin meets the eyelashes. Blot away any excess liquid to avoid liquid running onto your cheek. Use one applicator for each eye and throw away after use. Only apply at the base of the upper lashes.
For most people, it will take 16 weeks to see the full effect of Latisse but many notice the growth within 3-4 weeks. Increased darkness and fullness are typically seen at week 8. Continuing with the treatment past week 8 usually results in longer, fuller, thicker, and darker eyelashes.
Because Latisse is a prescription medication, you will need to sign an informed consent before purchasing from a licensed healthcare provider.
